The Raiders fell to the Chiefs last time out after beating the Tennessee Titans the week before. They led for most of the game against Kansas City, but couldn’t hang on for the victory as things fell apart for them in the fourth quarter. The Chiefs piled things on by scoring 20 straight points to earn the come-from-behind win. Quarterback Derek Carr threw a pair of touchdown passes and gained 283 yards in the air, but he was then picked off three times in the final quarter and all three interceptions ended up in Kansas City touchdowns.

Oakland hasn’t been too bad on the road this season as they’re 3-3 both straight up and against the spread. These two clubs met a couple of months ago in Oakland and Denver left town with a close, low-scoring 16-10 win. For the Raiders to turn the table they’re going to need a better game out of Carr as he can’t afford to throw interceptions. The quarterback needs to make sure his passes make it to their intended targets who will be running back Latavius Murray and wide receivers Michael Crabtree and Amari Cooper.

Murray had a good outing against the Chiefs as he carried the ball 20 times for a team-best 86 yards and chipped in with a touchdown. Crabtree and Cooper weren’t as effective though as they teamed up for just 114 yards between them and a touchdown. The Raiders will be facing a solid Broncos’ defense which concedes league lows in both passing yards at 195.6 per game and points at 17.5 per contest.

Denver was in complete control against San Diego on the weekend as quarterback Brock Osweiler gained 166 yards in the air by going 16 for 26 in passing and added an early touchdown pass to Demaryius Thomas. The Broncos are now on a three-game winning run and will be aiming to capture the AFC West title for the fifth straight year. Denver has beaten Oakland eight times in their past 10 meetings and has gone 7-3 against the spread during that stretch. Denver will need to be wary of the Oakland offense since it has posted an average of 23.7 points on the board per game this season. The Broncos will try to make sure the Raiders’ offense doesn’t get into a groove and gain confidence. Linebacker Von Miller leads the Broncos this campaign with nine sacks and he’ll be trying to put the pressure on Derek Carr.

Offensively, Osweiler will be up against a secondary which concedes 271.1 yards against in the air each week. He’ll be hoping to get some help from receiver Demaryius Thomas on Sunday. Thomas has three touchdowns and has caught for 972 yards this season. On the ground, Ronnie Hillman has been leading the way with team highs in touchdowns with six and rushing yards with 643.
