Super Bowl 51 Odds – Patriots Remain 3 Point Favorites as Big Game Approaches

UPDATE FROM BOVADA 02/03/2017:

NFL Odds: Patriots Still –3 Versus Falcons for Super Bowl 51

Super Bowl 51 Odds Patriots Remain 3 Point Favorites as Big Game Approaches“Where’s the support for the Atlanta Falcons? Super Bowl 51 is coming up this Sunday (6:30 PM ET, FOX), and most of the action thus far has been on the favorites, the New England Patriots. They’re still 3-point favorites at press time, with most of the big bets coming in on Tom Brady and Friends. The total is also holding steady at 59.5 points after opening at 59 – a new Super Bowl record.

Despite all the support for the Patriots (16-2 SU, 15-3 ATS), Atlanta has picked up some steam on the moneyline. The NFC champs are available at +125, down from +135 at the open and as high as +140 last week. There should be some betting value on the Falcons (13-5 SU, 12-6 ATS) and their league-best offense in what looks like a close game on paper.

The under may also have value if the league has its way. Super Bowl 51 could be the first time all season that the retractable roof at Houston’s NRG Stadium has been opened for an NFL game; a final decision isn’t expected until just before game time. Sunday’s forecast calls for partly cloudy skies and temperatures reaching 80 degrees at kick-off. ”

Tom Brady and the New England Patriots (16-2 SU, 15-3 ATS) have opened as 3-point favorites over Matt Ryan and the Atlanta Falcons (13-5 SU, 12-6 ATS), with a huge game total of 59.5 points – up from 59 at the open. FOX will televise the big game from Houston’s NRG Stadium on Sunday, February 5, starting at 6:30 PM ET.

Superbowl 51 Odds to Win SuperBowl MVP:

Matt Ryan is currently at +230 in his first Super Bowl appearance – he’s almost a lock to win the regular season MVP award. Others include Julio Jones +800, Julian Edelman +1600, LeGarrette Blount +1600, Dion Lewis +1600, Devonta Freeman +2000, Field +2000.

Superbowl 51 Odds: Betting Tips:

Underdogs have won four of the last five Super Bowls straight up, so the Falcons have recent betting trends on their side. They’ve got the best offense in the league, which they’ll rely on because of their weaker defense, driving the over to a 15-2-1 record so far this season. The Patriots (under 10-8) went 4-2 SU and 2-4 ATS in their previous six Super Bowl appearances.

The total has also climbed from 59 points to 59.5, easily the highest total ever at the Super Bowl. Rumor has it that Lady Gaga wants to perform her halftime show on top of the stadium, so the retractable roof will presumably remain closed for the Big Game.
